Windows 10 and S mode?

I went to buy a laptop and saw that many run windows with S mode. Looking it up implies that it can only run software that comes from the Windows AP store. I assume this is a no-go for a ham that wants to run a variety of Ham software? Could this be why some people have trouble running some things on Windows 10? Bob

Satellite Rotor Project

After reading about the Mini Satellite rotor project I also want to point out the one from the SatNogs tracking project. https://wiki.satnogs.org/SatNOGS_Rotator_v3 Also have to point out their network setup to track and logging of various satellites. https://satnogs.org/ Their is a whole network of home brew network stations setup that record the pass and post audio and water fall of the pass for that stations location. It is a lot of fun to check out ground station recording to see if our signal is heard. And they also have decoders for various modes and telemetry. You can get started with a simple no rotor station with a raspberry pi and a SDR Dongle. I like the rotor project because the aluminum extrusion material is readily available and the 3D printed parts can be easily replaced when necessary. Mike Hoblinski N6IMF

unable to dig over ISS

Posting this as a last resort as I ordinarily enjoy doing my own troubleshooting, but this one has me perplexed. For normal sat ops I am running a TS2Kx, 5 el 2m and 11 el 70 cm Directive Systems yagis on a G5400. Doppler and rotor all run by SatPc32. Up to about a year ago I ran AGWPE and UISS and a USB Signalink (through ACC 2) to dig over ISS. Never had a problem, except the occasional decode problem fixed by UX7HO Soundmodem. I finally removed AGWPE and began using Sound Modem with UISS. However, since then I have been unable to dig over ISS. I decode just fine. My transmissions sound like normal packet transmissions, listening on a second receiver. I have used all of the online recommended settings for both Sound Modem and UISS. I have played with the audio levels. I substituted Signalinks in case that was the issue. Also, I have no problem sending APRS over 144.39 using different "wide" settings and getting an acknowledgement back. My "neighbor" Christy KB6LTY has provided much assistance, but still no joy. I am missing something. So I'm hoping someone has had a similar issue with a similar set up and can maybe send me screen shots of their settings that work, especially in Sound Modem. Or, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Craig N6RSX

SatPC32 won't center on station

SatPc32 question. New installation. Under Setup/Options I have Center Map on Observer selected. But it is centered on and following the satellite instead. I'm running it as administrator and any options I change do show up after I quit and restart. I am restarting after I make changes. I seem to be missing an option that makes it center on observer and stay there. Jim, WD0E

Source for UISS software

I want to download the latest UISS version, but none of the links that come up in Google or Bing seem to work. I just get an error message after the computer tries to connect for awhile. I'm connected to the internet just fine. All other websites are easy to get to, Has anyone else had a problem getting the UISS download? Is there an alternate site? Is there an alternative program besides UISS that isn't too daunting to configure (I'm not a computer whiz)? Steve AI9IN
