HTML and MIME in Amsat-BB digests

XW-2D Malfunction?

Dear Folks: I just got off from a pass of XW-2D. The pass started at around 23:48UTC here in my grid square of DM-79. It was a pretty good pass over my QTH with the highest point being at an elevation of about 50 degrees. I observed that the satellite appeared to be operating intermittently, i.e., it would cut in and out. I would transmit, and suddenly, my signal would appear on the downlink at about S6 or S7, and after a few syllables, it would cut out completely. A couple of times, I could hear someone else coming in on the downlink but I could only hear a few syllables as well and then they would cut out much like me. Occasionally, I would hear an intermittent buzzing noise. I then turned my receive frequency to the beacon. The beacon wasn't audible most of the time. Every now and then, I'd hear what appeared to be a solitary dash, but nothing else on the beacon frequency. I did vary my receive frequency to account for doppler and heard nothing else but that occasional solitary dash. For the record, immediately before the pass, I had worked an RS-44 pass without difficulty or anomaly. After the pass, I switched to some local repeaters and my equipment worked normally. Thus, I don't think my setup was the reason why XW-2D appeared to be operating intermittently. Anyone have any ideas what is going on? Thanks and 73 de Bernie, KF0QS

SATPC32 Help Requested

Sent from Mail for Windows 10 Equipment: Icom 9700 LVB Tracker SatPC 32 Yaseu Rotor G-5500 Everything is working except for one thing the rotor will not track the birds automatically. I have gone thru the LVB configuration checked and rechecked many times. Here is the error message I get on my computer screen: SERVERS DX (NO ACESS) When I was originally installing SATPC32 I had a terrible time with ADMINSTRATIVE PRIVALAGES. IQ files of LEO East Coast passes

Not sure if anyone would want these, but I have modified a RPI APT weather capture program to automatically capture the LEO’s with 2 meter downlinks. The 240KHZ wide spectrum files are captured using a 137 QFH (for now), a rtlsdr and a RPI 3b.They are then converted to SDRSharp format with iqtoSharp and trimmed to the center 6 minutes of the pass with sox. Finally they are uploaded to GDrive. I then download a file when I want to listen. On SDRSharp I set the input to IQ File and then load the downloaded IQ file. Fileplayer is a (better) plugin to use. I also click Correct IQ to eliminate the center line in rtlsdr captures. Finally I use the Baseband Noise Blanker to eliminate my neighbors TV. The spectrum files allow you to tune around the 240 kHz capture - you have to manually adjust for doppler. (i have connected GPredict to SDRSharp using the Time Controller with mixed results for doppler correction and find it easier to just adjust manually.)
