Hi, as far as I know the bug in the VPID/APID was fixed and thus it should be possible to receive the signal also with a downconverter and a normal DVB-S satellite receiver. Before most groundstations were using the Minitiouner hardware and special software. This is the same 2.4 GHz digital amateur TV transmitter that was operating in the Columbus module several years ago. It is not SSTV. The unit failed and was returned to Earth pre-pandemic, has since been repaired with no changes, given a new external RF filter, and is now being returned to ISS. HamTV is aboard the SpaceX CRS-30 launch scheduled for March 21 at 4:55 PM EDT. The AMSAT-ON site that Paul mentioned has a good technical description. Additional challenges, flash media player is out of date and not supported. You will need to move to 64 bit windows 10 or 11 and use html5. Now you're trying to put 32 bit hardware in a 64 bit machine. I'm in the process but I'm struggling. The best resource I’m aware of is from AMSAT-ON. I don’t know if any changes have been made to the format of the transmissions, so we have to await ARISS’s word on that, but I believe it still works the same way. https://www.amsat-on.be/hamtv-summary/ Actually receiving video is somewhat complicated, but I believe that detecting the S band signal is relatively straightforward for anyone who has S band reception capability. Simplex Repeater Balloon Payload in Iowa

Hello everyone, The Campus Amateur Radio Club at Iowa State University (W0ISU) will be launching an amateur radio payload this Saturday, March 23. The payload will consist of an Argent Data Systems ADS-SR1 simplex repeater coupled to a Midland SD-225 radio module and a BNC rubber duck antenna. The Midland radio will transmit on 446.375 MHz (no tone, no offset). The payload is estimated to be in the air around 8 AM central (13:00z) with recovery time around 11 AM central (16:00z) or so. Many states surrounding Iowa may be covered in the footprint of this balloon, so contacts could be possible among others in the Midwest, much like how an amateur satellite propagates signals. The Campus Amateur Radio Club will operate the simplex repeater in a CQ style fashion so that new members can make as many contacts as possible across the Midwest. Yes, looks like the end is near, AO-109 presently orbiting at about 350 km. Linear sats XW-2E and XW-2F will meet their demise sometime around the end of this month, presently they are orbiting at only 300 km or so. de KM1P Joe
