I have not had an issue with mine but I would check to see if you have voltage going to the feedback potentiometers first. That supply would have both az and el in common. You can check this easly as I believe the leads from the pots are seperate from the rotor to the control box so could easly be measured with an ohm meter. After Sitting for 6 months my rotor is acting up. It was working 100 % When I left for the winter. Big issue is it isn't displaying any AZ EL data on the display, and appears to be sending bad data the the LVBTracker. The rotor operates manually but there is no AZ EL data displayed. When I try to track a sat with SatPC32 it seems that that the 5500 is also sending bad data to the LVBTracker as the antenna EL runs away , and the AZ data is also way off. So my question is did anyone also have this issue? I'm thinking it's in the control box as bot AZ and EL are affected. N1MM has a general purpose satellite log template, but do not use it for FD! Here's what I do: Create a new log using the ARRL FD template and add the appropriate station and operator data. I run N1MM stand-alone (not connected to the radio or to a club logging network). I assign arbitrary HF - thru microwave "bands" to each satellite I work (AMSAT FD rules treat each satellite as a separate "Band"). E.g., I enter 1800 in the frequency window for AO-7, 3500 for RS-44, etc. At start of a pass, I enter the appropriate band and log QSOs. N1MM takes care of dupe checking etc. After the contest, I export the data and edit in Excel, changing the bands to satellites for the AMSAT FD. For ARRL, I put in the appropriate TX and RX bands and email it to whomever is submitting our club's FD score to ARRL. Since I am not operating on HF, connecting my laptop to a club network will totally mess things up. I am running the club VHF station between satellite passes, so I'm reserving the "50000 kHz band" for the 6M QSOs. I've found that if you connect N1MM to the radio and doppler correction is running, N1MM interprets the frequency changes as a QSY and clears the logging window! And if I entered the correct RX and TX bands (e.g. 144000 or 435000 kHz), N1MM will treat QSOs with the same station on different satellites as dupes. I've noticed it usually takes me a few QSOs to reprogram my brain to send the FD call and exchange instead of the usual home call and grid! 73 & Good Luck this weekend (and stay cool if you are in the extreme heat zone!) Hi all, The local club is using the N1MM logging program for FD and I will be running the sat station this year. The use of N1MM is new for recording the sat contacts but I am not finding anything specific. So I must be missing something. Is anyone else using the N1MM program to record your Sat FD contacts? I have a few weatherproof outdoor enclosures available. These were used in the electric utility industry to enclose controls for switchgear. All connections go through the bottom panel. Minimum internal dimensions are approximately 17" x 15" x 9", weight is ~50lbs. The cabinets are made of steel with a neoprene gasket & drip lip around the front door; the gasket might need some attention as these cabinets are ~40 years old. The cabinets have a mounting bracket along the rear that extends above and below the back panel. The front door can be pad locked. There is an internal panel that swings out and it can be removed if desired. There is a 120 VAC duplex outlet & a screw terminal strip inside on the raised, drilled and tapped back panel. All the internals are still in the cabinet, new owner can strip out what isn't needed...it'll take an hour or less.
