I used to monitor telemetry from the older FOX satellites with a slower laptop running an SDR. I found that I had to wait for the 'Queue' in the lower right corner of the FoxTelem panel to go down to zero before exiting FoxTelem otherwise my most recent bytes wouldn't show. Hi, The SatPC32 Update Keps feature doesn't work with https links for TLE files. That would require changes of the source code and maybe requires a new Delphi version for me. I will care about that but that will at least take time and at present I don't have much time for the hobby. But all https websites can be accessed also with http. Then they are no "secure" sites but that is meaningless with websites that contain Keps. Therefore use http in the aux. file Celestrak.SQF for AMSAT and Celestrak TLE (Two Line Elements) files, as described by Charlie, AJ9N, see below. With that modification the Download Keps function works. Also, the https links can be accessed with your browser, of course. Enter the links into the address line of the browser. So, you can download the Keps and save them in the SatPC32 data folder 'Kepler' (see path to that folder in the footline of menu 'Satellites'). BTW: Meanwhile my website supports also SSL. You can access it with https://www.dk1tb.de and https://www.dk1tb-2.de Also, SatPC32 supports now - besides TLE files - the new formats for Keps files XML, KVN and CSV. Celestrak publishes the Keps files also in these formats. The SatPC32 UpdateKeps feature works with these files also when downloaded from https sites (I don't know why that is different vs. the TLE files). Therefore you can use https in Celestrack. Yaesu G-5500DC trouble shooting?

I purchased a new Yaesu G-5500DC.Ensured continuity for each pin on the female connector to the corresponding screw on the controller box. Meaning pin 1 to screw 1 and so on. I only connected the Azimuth so far.I powered the control box turn it on and depress the left button and then the right button and nothing happens. I was expecting the azmuith rotator to turn...I rechecked continuity from the pins on the female connector to the screws on the controller box and they all seemed good. However, I noticed that screws 4 and 5 on the control box have continuity for azmuith. Is this normal? I noticed that scres 4 and 5 of the elevation screws also have continuity... Does anybody have any suggestions on troubleshooting? Are there other forums more appropriate for this topic? Thanks for any advise! 73, Tom NJ2DX

*ARISS News Release No.24-38* *Dave Jordan, AA4KN * *ARISS PR* *aa4kn(a)amsat.org <aa4kn(a)amsat.org>* *FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE* *ARISS Contact is Scheduled with Students at * *Houjoudu Elementary School, Imizu, Japan* July 9, 2024—Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) has received schedule confirmation for an ARISS radio contact between an astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and students at the Houjoudu Elementary School located in Imizu, Japan. ARISS conducts 60-100 of these special amateur radio contacts each year between students around the globe and crew members with ham radio licenses aboard the ISS. Imizu City Houjoudu Elementary School in Toyama Prefecture has a 150-year history, and currently has 103 students. The Shinminato Amateur Radio club is assisting with this ARISS contact. Students have been preparing for this ARISS contact by watching images of the ISS and learning about Miura folding, a variation of the ancient Japanese tradition of origami. Miura folding method is named for Koryo Miura of Tokyo University's Institute of Space and Aeronautical Science who was looking for efficient ways to fold and unfold the solar panels of spacecraft so that they can fit inside a rocket then unfurl in orbit to catch the sun’s rays. Miura folding method allows it to be easily opened and closed by applying force in one direction. This will be a direct contact via Amateur Radio allowing students to ask their questions of astronaut Mike Barratt, amateur radio call sign KD5MIJ. The downlink frequency for this contact is 145.800 MHz and may be heard by listeners that are within the ISS-footprint that also encompasses the relay ground station.
