Having a few issues using SatPC32 and especially Yaesu gear, specifically FT-817 and FT-857. The copy I aa using is not a registered version yet nor have I modified any of the SQF files. When using on the FT-817, I cannot get any response to the radio. It doesn't appear to follow the doppler corrections being issued by the program. When using the FT-857, the unit appears to semi-work, but it seems to switch between 2 vfos. When using my Icom IC-910, it works fine if I let it go into satellite mode. If this is just a file editing problem let me know. In general, I'll be using the IC-910 most often but have considered using the 817/857 for portable operation if I can get it to work correctly. I also noticed that the FT-857 has issues with HRD as well, but that's a subject for another time. Any guesses as to why FT-817 not working or does there need to be some initial file modifications? ISS SSTV images received at 27 Januari.

Currently the Russian cosmonaut(s) send SSTV images from the Space Station for the MAI-75 experiment. Probably different SSTV modes will be used these 3 days of activity, and it is recommanded to use MMSSTV (freeware) software wich support these modes. Several amateur radio operators have received already some ISS SSTV images, some are shown on the ARISS SSTV gallery page: http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ariss/SSTV/ If you have received images please send them via the ARISS SSTV submission page: http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ariss/SSTV/submit.php We may not be able to display every image because of quality or duplication . On Jan. 27, Mars will be closer to Earth than any other time between 2008 and 2014. A mere 60 million miles away, the red planet will be a great target for backyard telescopes, and will appear bright to the naked eye as well. Every 26 months, the two planets’ orbits bring them closer together, sometimes closer than others. In 2003, Mars came within 35 million miles of Earth, a 60,000-year record. Observers with a telescope will be able to see changes over the north pole of Mars as the carbon dioxide ice cap is nearing summer and evaporating into gas that affects the polar clouds. (If any of our reader-astronomers catch a nice image, send it our way!) >From the ground, Mars will look like an orange star almost as bright as Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. The view will actually be best on Friday, Jan. 29, when Mars will rise alongside the first full moon of the year, directly opposite the sun. ND9M Road Trip Update #2

We'll be running the DM95/DM96 and EM06/EM07 grid lines tomorrow (Wed). (All planned grid line ops assume that we can actually GET to the line itself; we've been very lucky so far...) >From there we'll overnight in Dodge City, KS, which sits on the DM97/EM07 line. With a winter storm warning in effect for this area on Thursday, we might sit tight in Marshall Dillon's corral for a day before resuming our northbound leg. So far, all my ops have been on AO27 and AO51, mainly because I'm having a bit of difficulty finding my downlink on the linear birds (AO7, VO52, and HO68). No doubt it's a simple error that I'm overlooking since I was able to use all three birds before we left FL. Hi AMSATs, I just read the message about the tube-sats. I was having a look to their options, but when I understand well in the structure there is already a radio integrated ? What is the area that can be used for electronics ? The weight is max. 250 grams, which is no problem to handle one off my LE005-R2 linear transponders (weights only 30 grams). Just fill the existing space with Li-ion batts and there you go... Mobile Sat antenna

Hi All, I have heard a couple times on the FM birds of stations signing mobile. I wonder what type of antennas are used for mobile. I have an Arrow I use portable with my HT. I have a full duplex Icom FM rig and could just barely hear HO-68 on a Wednesday pass up in Em95. No preamp or anything yet and just a 1/4 wave duobander. What would it take to operate truly mobile from an antenna standpoint. Just playing with the idea. I travel a bit during Spring and Summer and might be fun to try. Joe KI4TZ

HO-68 Tracking

Greetings to all. I have 2 satellite prediction programs, NOVA for Windows and of course SatPC32. Since the two do not match in prediction, I tried to find out which one is correct. Anyone wonders about the outcome? Erich, you can relax, your SatPC32 program is superior! But...... Setup: IC-706MKII, outside Arrow antenna mounted on photo tripod at ground level. Computer time adjusted to WWV and newest Keps loaded via internet. HO-68 orbit 547 was an almost overhead pass (here in Hawaii). When I finally picked up HO-68's beacon, the indicated CAT frequency of the SatPC32 program and the MANUALLY tuned frequency of the IC-706MKII did not match, and were far off. By observation, the satellite was lagging the prediction program. When the the CAT window showed a beacon frequency of 435790 KHz I timed this with a stop watch, and waited till the radio dial showed the same. The difference was about 7 minutes! and SatPC32 showed HO-68 almost out of the foot print whilst it should have been overhead at the closest distance to me. Something is absolutely wrong. A 7 minute time difference is not acceptable. Next I loaded HO-68's Online Satellite Pass Predictions from AMSAT NA. Surprise, the AMSAT predictions accurately mirror the SatPC32 predictions, or vice versa. But are wrong! as measured by the actual event. AO-7 UHF beacon heard

I am copying a very strong carrier on AO-7 as I write this... 435.106MHz , no signs of modulation. Planet Emily latest reports show the transponder might be off... I didn't listen for myself... have to swap co-ax, but I was busy trying to figure out if the carrier were definitely the old girl, or Informator-1/RS-14 which were both directly overhead and whose dopper-shifts were similar at the time... I confirmed it to be definitely coming from AO-7. As I push "send" the carrier is still clear at 3.5 degrees over the north pole... Auke de Jong VE6PWN DO33go Edmonton, AB

ISS Reboost

This came off the russian space agency site Where I was looking for MAI-75 and never found it .. :) But did find this: On Jan. 24, ballistics ops personnel of the Mission Control Center in Korolev, Moscow region, performed International Space Station reboost maneuver. The operation was carried out automatically, and assisted by Zvezda boosters KD-1 and KD-2, which were switched on at 12:01 Moscow time. The operation lasted 150 seconds. The maneuver resulted in additional station acceleration of 2.85mps. ISS altitude became about 5 km higher. Randy - N2CUA

FT-847 and SATPC32

A while back I posted a note for a friend I was trying to help where SATPC32 would not doppler tune his FT-847. SATPCISS worked fine and he was able to tune the radio using the UP/DWN buttons on the SATPC32 screen. We finally have figured it out. His radio is one of the very early FT-847's which did not allow the VFO to be polled. There was a mod being done by Vertex, but a call to them came up empty. The first SouthAmerica - Europe SSB HO-68 contact

Yesterday evening 240110 at 2327z Piraja PS8RF at GI84ow and me EA4CYQ at IM78bw made a contact in SSB mode through HO68. I think it is the first SouthAmerica - Europe Contact of 7.477 Km. Kenwood D7 Fullduplex handheld FS

I have this radio to offer from the estate of a dear friend. His wife is asking our local club to help sell his equipment. Before we list this on eBay I thought someone here might wont to purchase it. The radio is in excellent working condition. There is a scratch on the display but it does not interfere with reading the display. I have two batteries that both seem to take a charge just fine. One is a PB 39 and the other is a PB 38. They are both included. Also the orginal wall charger from Kenwood is included. All the manuals are with it also. I do not have the box. I would expect this radio with included items is worth $260.00 including shipping to the lower 48 states. Others please inquire concerning shipping cost. OSCAR 27 is not AO-27

Hi all, This may be known to some of you - but it has given me problems sometimes. OSCAR 27 is a different satellite than AO-27. OSCAR 27 is catalog number 18361. AMRAD-OSCAR-27 (AO-27) (AKA EYESAT) is catalog number 22825. OSCAR 27 is in the Transit series of satellites (NAVSAT). Other satellites in this series carry the OSCAR name and a number. I had this problem at a summer course in satellite technology for students from many countries. I said to them that they could use the keps for AO-27 for a project. AO-27 has a nice nearly circular orbit :-) Then they used OSCAR 27 - and I did not understand the the difference in the expected results in the start. Some lists of keplerian elements use EYESAT for AO-27. If you Goggle OSCAR 27 you get a lot of hits that are really AO-27. Greetings from Copenhagen. 73 OZ1MY Ib

The distance between the two stations was 7738 km (4833 Miles). And with absolute certainty the QSO could be extended by a greater good distance. I have the recording of QSO. Hello There is little more than 6 weeks left in which to complete the outstanding commissioning activities on Sumbandila before operations are planned to be handed over in middle-March to the Satellite Application Center, who will then continue to operate the satellite on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) - owner of the satellite. Since our progress is currently hampered by the various SA-AMSAT payload activities, we have unfortunately no choice but to temporarily suspend this service on SO-67. We plan to have it "on air" again end-March / beginning Apr this year. We have so far successfully executed more than 320 payload activations since we started using the SA-AMSAT payload in Q4 2009. I've been looking at some cosmonauts' historic accounts of missions on the Salyut series of orbital spacecraft. Characteristically they have drawn a graph of the eclipse and sunlight times of the long duration mission. The vertical axis is time after EQX of the first orbit of the day (the entry into and departure from eclipse is marked on this axis in 5 minute intervals) and the horizontal axis is the mission day. The result is a graph in which lines extend horizontally conencting the eclipse times (both in and out), and they have characteristically filled in the darkness time with dark pen. On one print the light time has another contour with what appears to be sun angle. The graph has then been added to by showing the plan and actual activity on that mission day. I would find it interesting to compute a similar graph for a long duration mission of the ISS. But I have some difficulty. From a TLE I can do the following: *calculate first eqx in utc but can't find the time of crossing into eclipse without knowing the position of the sun and the position of the spacecraft in relation to the sun (Subsatellite point?). Does anyone have any idea about the calculation and data involved? It must have been a hand calculation carried out by cosmonauts, but once a simple program is written I could use excel to draw the graph. Maybe a standard predictor program can produce a data output that could be rewritten into excel? I'd need the eclipse times on the orbit following the first eqx of the day. I would appreciate any input, also any thoughts of why they would want to draw it (have only thought of observation and power). many thanks 73 de andy G0SFJ

My XYL and I will stay in Oklahoma City (EM15) for much of Monday, 25 Jan, so I may not be QRV tomorrow until the AO51 pass at about 25/2333Z. If we cut out early, I'll be on during the AO27 pass that starts at about 25/2002Z. Either way, I'll be looking to operate from the EM04/EM05 line during the first pass and then DM94/DM95 the next time. After that, we will start making our way north along the 100W longitude. Mario, DL5MLO, showed the data transfer between a in Germany produced engineering model of the IHU-3 and a notebook with 400 bps PSK. This is the core of the data communications for P3E control and monitoring in flight. So far there is only a prototype at basic layout of the last stand. Launch costs A satellite launch with the Ariane will cost about 3 million Euros. An alternative to Ariane and Soyuz could be the new agency SpaceX. It was talked about the possibilities for an inexpensive launch for P3E with one of the Falcon 9 rockets. At present, the prices for a regular Falcon-9 are outside the financial resources of AMSAT-DL. During the interview, there were signs however, a vague possibility of how to reduce costs. AMSAT-DL will continue to remain in contact with SpaceX. The financing of launch costs would be done by the Mars P5A mission. For the feasibility of P5A with costs of 10 million Euros for each start and developing it was agreed with DLR the creation of a study. The planned realization of the P5A Mission to Mars was between 2016 to 2018. Alternative P5-Moon mission Hartmut, DL1YDD, said that talks in September 2009 with the DLR at tech- nical level took place. A lunar mission as an intermediate step to a Mars mission would be equipped with a probe in a 100-km orbit around the Moon and possible in 2014. The satellite design for the P5-Moon mission is, as the P5-Mars mission, based on the P3D structure of AO-40. RG 389 is an air dielectric cable. Make sure there is no moisture in it efore terminating it.Best way is to purge with dry nitrogen than terminate. Make sure terminations are air tight.This is a good cable but any moisture in it is not good news.I used LMR-600 a little more loss but abit easier to terminate and more trouble free or look at the LMR 900.hope this is helpful. Coaxial line question

Yes again a returning question "preamp at the tower or near the shack" I will have to do soon some maintenance work on my satellite antennas tower. I planned to use 2 heliax 1/78" 45' individual line. Each line will be terminated by high quality 2psp coaxial microwave switch feeding UHF and VHF antennas. I don't know if i can move my VHF and UHF preamp at the other end near the shack where each line will enter the house on short LMR 400 run 10 feet max? I know the theory says the best place to put a preamp is at the antenna but with the very low loss on the Heliax coaxial line, is in the real world there will be any significant degradation in the noise figures who will be really noticeable? Note: If the relays are introducing too much loss i can feed the antenna directly from them on the 8' run on LMR-400 directly on the female N type heliax connector. P.S. One commercial microwave technician is telling me that i will be able to see difference only on labs spectrum/signal generator in short i will be unable to tell any difference due to the short length of my coaxial line. He told me he's playing with 300 to 600 feets of lines in his day to day work and 45 feet heliax run are nearly consider as jumper line in his world... Hit o the list, I own an Kenwood TS-790E that I used since there was KO-23 KO-25 UO-22 and others 9600bd Satellites. Ho you know with these birds with had to work as Uplink 2m and as downlink On 70 cm so I have made modifies to these two bands using the ACC4 socket on The back of the radio.. Now there is AO-51 that has the possibility to go at 9600bd, but sometimes it has the uplink on 1.2GHZ. Is there anybody that can tell me if I can add the 9600bd on the 1.2Ghz module? Hi Folks, I am trying the bird on: 9k6 BBS and Telemetry. Does it work? With the MSPE I can just receive numbers like: B:45225614. What does it mean? I am trying to request the DIR on 1268.700 MHz, but I do not get any response. I am asking because I would like to see if my system works. Is there any other Bird that I can use the 1.2 GHz Band? I'd like to point out that the cables may look the same but when tested you may be surprised at the results.Having looked at a number of different cable I have found a big difference in performance. After sweeping the cable over HAM bands the SWR can run from 1.5 up to over 6 to one .Suggest if possible be for installing terminate and test over band to be used. Make sure the load on one end is 50 ohms over that band as test results will only as good as test equipment used.Jack WA1ZDV

Hi Enzo, Yes the 1.2 Ghz uplink does work on the BBS. How many watts are at your antenna and what is the antenna gain? I find that 30W at my 20+dB gain antenna is not enough unless the view is clear of any trees. I find the 1.2GHz uplink to be difficult on the BBS so keep trying! Current logs show several users from around the world. JA, VK, OZ, WA stations are some examples. It came with N type connectors. I tried to find LMR 450 and it seems hard to find .. not takers on my first inquiry. I even sent a note to Icom, they may get back to me someday. I know there are some 910 smarties out there. Hello I am trying to set up my 910/sequencer/amp. Checking things out before hard wiring everything I discovered when grounding pin 3 of the acc socket the radio does go to xmit, and will do cw, however to send ssb the ptt on the mic has to be pushed. At times I use a Heil head set that has no PTT and I simply push the xmit on the radio. Do I have to pick off the PTT at the mic connector? I am probably overlooking something obvious. ND9M Road Trip

My XYL and I are heading toward Denver and will be putting out a lot of grid squares over the FM sats during the next several weeks. Our general route will initially be along the 35N latitude line to 104W. Once we hit 104W, we'll turn north and put out all grids on both side of that line into western Nebraska, then head for Cheyenne (DN71) and Denver (DN70). (We might keep going north along the same line into South Dakota, but that depends on available time.) All grids on each side of the line will be activated; grid lines will be hit for "double credit" as much as they're accessible. During today's driving leg, we'll be on from EM44 and EM45 followed by EM34 and EM35. Tomorrow, we expect to be on from EM24 and EM25, then EM14 and EM24. Sounds of old satellites

Recently I found some old audio cassettes on which I had recorded some of the sounds I heard from the satellites back in the eighties. Rather than discarding the tapes I decided to digitize them and make them available to interested persons. I have got sound bites from: - RS-5 - RS-7 - Oscar 9 - Oscar 10 - Oscar 11 I also found recordings from my attempts to contact Owen Garriot, W5LFL, during his pioneering trip on STS-9 in Nov/Dec 1983. I made three attempts but only one of them has a few minutes with the voice of W5LFL, so that is the only one on my site. Hey everyone, At 0204 UTC on 23 January, KL7XJ and I had a quick contact on HO-68 in FM. At the time, the satellite was below 4.5 degrees and descending for me. I'm thrilled to put state No. 49 in the log with my handheld station - a Yaesu VX-7R and Elk dual-band log periodic. I never expected to get more than the lower 48 in my satellite log with the HT, so this is a very pleasant surprise. Hi Bob, W7LRD Your switching box is the KLM model CS2 suitable for 70 cm crossed yagi model 435-18CX or 435-40CX and it is enclosed into a completely sealed aluminum box so that a weep hole in the bottom is recommended to prevent umidity condensation inside of it. Hit o the list, I own an Kenwood TS-790E that I used since there was KO-23 KO-25 UO-22 and others 9600bd Satellites. Ho you know with these birds with had to work as Uplink 2m and as downlink On 70 cm so I have made modifies to these two bands using the ACC4 socket on The back of the radio.. Now there is AO-51 that has the possibility to go at 9600bd, but sometimes it has the uplink on 1.2GHZ. Is there anybody that can tell me if I can add the 9600bd on the 1.2Ghz module? Graphical display of states worked or something

Mike, Check out GcmWin (Great Circle Maps) from Roger, SM3GSJ at URL http://www.qsl.net/sm3gsj/index.htm. This is not exactly what you are looking for, but it does a good job of plotting your grid squares on a map. It can plot from two different grid square lists as well, so you can highlight confirmed vs. worked grids, for example, in different colors or shades. It does have the capability of adding boundaries--so state outlines could be added, but so far no support for shading in the boundaries as far as I know. 18 el cp yagi

Hello I am refurbishing a 18 element CP yagi. I am not sure of the manufacturer. I opened up the relay switching box and found a lot of moisture (Yes I live near Seattle) in the box. Lots of yuck and rust, on non stainless steel hardware.. The 12V connector is a simple phono plug, which should never be used outside. Before I reinvent the wheel has anyone been here before? Replace the phono plug, sealing everything. In the past I have used a material called 3M5200, a marine sealant, nasty but almost permanent. Suggestions please. 73 Bob W7LRD Seattle

Landwehr 2m Pre-amp issue

I was suspecting my 2m Landwehr was having problems one day, don't know when it really started having problems, but last night I checked it out. Last night when I was listening to AO-7, when I turned the pre-amp on I got about S 7 of noise and the signals from the satellite were buried in the noise, and I couldn't tell that the signals were boosted much, but I could still hear them with difficulty through the noise. Turning the pre-amp off made hearing the signals easier, due to lack of noise. Obviously since I could still hear stations, RF is still going through the device. Checking it out on stronger fm signals, did seem to amplify them more, but I could tell there was still noise. I don't know much about gaAsFet's but what I guess I'm asking, is when they Fail, could they fail in the noisy position, or when then they fail do they die with no amplification? I guess it could be possible some other component around the gaasfet failed making the device run wild. Maybe dirty relay contacts? The RF sensor still works still works fine. I won't be able to get my hands on it for a while as there is too much snow on the roof yet, and I don't have weak signal noise generators to try to isolated the problems. Landwehr gives you a schematic but they didn't like to reveal too much. The pre-amp is about 16 years old. My 70cm Landwehr which is the same age and gets much more use is chugging away just fine. The 2m pre-amp is under an eggbeater. I don't need a 2m pre-amp on LEO's with the beam. Give me some things to check, Thanks, 73 KB7ADL

Graphical display of states worked or something similar?

Been having lots of fun with new rooftop sat antennas. What I would like to do is attempt to work all states via AO-51, but I am struggling with a good layout to keep myself motivated. Does anyone know of a logging program I could display on a flat screen specific to sats? Here is my thought: A google maps overlay that has states and gridsquares on it (does this exist today as overlays for Google Earth maybe?) Then Iog my sat contacts on AO-51 into a logging program (LOTW or something else). Then it gives me an output overlay for Google so I can see all states and gridsquares worked. It would be great if it could color in the states I have worked and/or the grids I have worked on zoomin. Well, I know it is a lot to ask and maybe it has to be designed, but it certainly sounded interesting to me. It would really be nice when scouts or family come over to show them the states I have worked on AO-51 and/or others in a visual display. Thanks for any ideas or any pointers into anything close or at least a good sat logging program that maybe I can export a file to utilize in Google Earth to make a KMZ out of or something. Thanks to Mark for remembering the Microsat (AO-16 thru 19) Birthday. For me personally, this project was really a Personal High Point! We went from "light bulb turns on" concept to flight in just over 2 years. The concept of building a satellite with 5 stacked trays interconnected with a standardized bus was really an innovation. All 4 satellites shared 4 (nearly) identical trays (TX, RX, Computer & Power) and a 5th tray housing each group's unique hardware worked out very well; the 5th module was dubbed "TSFR" (this space for rent!). My personal contributions were the receiver modules (with help from W4PUJ), the AART "glue" board that is in every module (with help from Bob Stricklin, N5BRG) and the TSFR concept. Dee NB2F solves puzzle! Re: IC 910H query

Well Dee, I should have listened to you :) Got my IC-910H back from Icom (Washington state). It took me over $50 to find out it was my old power cord to the radio! Heh. So today when I got the radio back, I tried the old cord, still reduced output (70W 2M, about 40W 70cm). Hooked up the factory power cable (much shorter, heavier gauage), and it now meets spec: it puts out the full 100W (and a bit more!) on 2M and over 70W on 70cm. The sheet with the radio said they had "touched up allignment [sic]" and verified it met overall specs. It included a reminder to verify power supply was in spec during transmit (which it was, as voltage didn't sag a bit), and mentioned the SWR foldback if SWR is excessive (which my match was fine). The power cable simply wasn't flowing sufficient current. Four hours labor, no charge, since the radio was under warranty. Only cost was my shipping/insurance to them. Rather than pretend that it didn't happen, I'll try to save somebody else the same problem and fess up ;) Live and learn...even from other people's mistakes! Thanks for the sage advice, Dee! AO-16, DO-17, WO-18, and LO-19 !! :) To honor the great work of AMSAT volunteers that created, built, and launched the original "fleet of four" microsats exactly 20 years old, we will be *attempting* to operate AO-16 in its special "voice mode" on select passes during the period January 21-24. Operations will be limited to stations that share the footprint with the command station N8MH (grid FM05pj). Mode FM Voice Repeater (Downlink is DSB. Operation is Intermittent) Uplink: 145.9200 MHz FM Downlink 437.0260 MHz USB and LSB Please understand that because of the current orbit and a thermal issue in the spacecraft, the satellite turns itself OFF via a reset rather unpredictably--sometimes only moments after being turned ON. So operations may be limited to very short periods of times (barely enough for quick exchange). During some passes it might not work at all...but I'm willing to give it a shot. UO-11 mode S beacon

Hi all, Just a quick query regarding UO-11's Mode-S beacon at 2401.5. In a couple of places I have read that the Mode-S beacon is said to "transmit continuously", while others list that beacon as "non-operational". I have also noticed that it is listed a few times as having been heard(telemetry only) on the "oscar.dcarr.org" site inside their database, using Mode-S. Hi Mark, Yes it is a happy ending! Regards the 1296 board, it is one made by my ham colleague from a design by Bertrand Zauhar, VE2ZAZ. It places 8V on pin 3 of the PA which makes it more linear than the 6 or so volts that pin 3 of the PA was getting from its pad. I will send you more info directly. 73 Starr ZL3CU Mark L. The radio is now producing very good quality SSB :-) After we installed a 70cm and a 23cm antennas on his tower, we decided to take a look at the PLL/VCO PCB board in my radio. There was no noticeable long component leads or soldering that needed attention so it was replaced unmodified. Taking Henks advice I, where possible, rerouted all the internal coaxes on the board and the boards adjacent to it so that the coaxes passed between the components differently. Of interest one coax did a semicircle as it went through an opening near the front of the radio of a PCB compartment and then went into the other PCB compartment via its similar opening. This semicircle had a ribbon cable going through the middle of it. There was a spare grove between the two PCB compartments for a coax to go, so I placed this coax in the grove. Friends, It would be very helpful if you're planning to present and/or submit a paper for the 2010 SVHFS Conference to let us know. The deadline for submissions is February 5th, so time is ticking but not out. The conference planners are busy making preparations. So far we have open slots for the presentations on both Friday and Saturday. Requests for presentation slots are being taken now, please let us hear from you. Call for Papers 14th Annual Southeastern VHF Society Conference April 23rd and 24th, 2010 Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky The Southeastern VHF Society is calling for the submission of papers and presentations for the upcoming 14th Annual Southeastern VHF Society Conference to be held at Morehead State Univeristy in Morehead, KY on April 23rd and 24th, 2010. Papers and presentations are solicited on both the technical and operational aspects of VHF, UHF and Microwave weak signal amateur radio. Some suggested areas of interest are: Transmitters Receivers Transverters RF Power Amplifiers RF Low Noise Pre Amplifiers Antennas Construction Projects Test Equipment And Station Accessories Station Design And Construction Contesting Roving DXpeditions EME Propagation (Sporadic E, Meteor Scatter, Troposphere Ducting, etc.) Digital Modes (WSJT, etc.) Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Defined Radio (SDR) Amateur Satellites Amateur Television In general papers and presentations on non weak signal related topics such as FM repeaters and packet will not be accepted but exceptions may be made if the topic is related to weak signal. For example, a paper or presentation on the use of APRS to track rovers during contests would be considered. The deadline for the submission of papers and presentations is February 5, 2010. All submissions for the proceedings should be in Microsoft Word (.doc). Submissions for presentation at the conference should be in PowerPoint (.ppt) format, and delivered on either a USB memory stick or CDROM or posted for download on a web site of your choice. Pages are 8 and 1/2 by 11 inches with a 1 inch margin on the bottom and ¾ inch margin on the other three sides. All text, drawings, photos, etc. should be black and white only (no color). Please indicate when you submit your paper or presentation if you plan to attend the conference and present there or if you are submitting just for publication. Hi All, Hope you could help.... I've now ordered an Arrow antenna (144 / 430) beam from Antenna Warehouse (www.antennawarehouse.com) . I've sent a PayPal order to them for $139. I need to get in touch with them to confirm receipt of the order and that they are happy to ship to the UK. I've tried the advertise phone number from their website...no reply and have left them a couple of messages...have also emailed them and no reply... Almost every time uplink and downlink go into LSB mode and not as configured in USB and LSB. The things that are great are for example the integration with the logbook, DX cluster, DM780, Passes overview with HRD Sat Track, Great! Hello Jan PE0SAT, I have tried both software with my FT-847. Before I state which is my favourite, I must let you know about my correspondence with the authors. Simon and Erich helped me a lot when I started to test their products, so I am really grateful to them. When I use SatPC32 it is just like I were on an HF band, no difference. HRD V5.0 seems to be a bit too complex as a whole. That's why I prefer Sat32PC and I can recommend to everyone for satellite activity. gl de ha6nn Andras
