Test transmission ARISSat-1
February 9, 2011 will test transmission of amateur radio satellite ARISSat-1
(call RS1S) the ISS. Voice messages, telemetry and SSTV will transmit on
frequency 145.950 MHz in FM mode. The test transmission will be 2-3 days.
February 16 during an output of astronauts in outer space will be launched
amateursatellite ARISSat-1 (Cedar). Astronaut after switched power on the
satellite will expect a command from mission control center to launch into
orbit, when confirm receive satellite signals on the ground. So please to
all amateurs who received the satellite signals, call and tell about it by
phone +7-903-2557088 Samburov Sergei Nikolaevich (RV3DR) or call
+7-951-3346573 Pikkiev Valerian Alekseevich (RW3WW), or +7(495)602-95-08
mission control center. (info from http://radioskaf.ru/en/ )
I have an Alinco DJ-G7 tribander for sale. It comes with a Diamond
RH951S aftermarket triband antenna, a Yaesu speaker mike, an Alinco
speaker mike adapter cable, box, manual, EDH-35 AA battery pack, and the
original battery and charger. The original battery went open circuit
last summer in a hot car. This HT covers 2m, 70cm, and 1.2 GHz, and also
has a wideband receiver. It's a great HT, I just have too many of them.
I'll only sell to a amateur radio licensee. I can meet in Tampa or New
Port Richey, and all points in between. I'll also be at the AMSAT table
all weekend at the Orlando hamfest.
Price is $240 obo.

Hi Gang,
The Orlando Hamcation is just a week away, and AMSAT will be there in
force. We have a forum scheduled Saturday from 1:45 to 3:15, and this
year it is INSIDE! I expect
ARISSat-1 will be the main topic of discussion. We'll have live
satellite demonstrations, ranging from simple handheld/portable
operations, to fully automated systems. The ARISSat-1 engineering model
will be on display, and on the air. I'll have a FUNcube Dongle Pro on
display and in use. I'm also planning on having materials on hand for
new members to build their own CJU 435 MHz antenna, for free as
incentive to join and support AMSAT.
To make this all happen, we need your help. Orlando has become AMSAT's
busiest hamfest behind Dayton, and we need current members to assist in
the booth. If you can help answer questions and talk up the amateur
satellite program, please consider putting in a few hours behind the
table. Drop me an email at ko4ma(a)amsat.org, and let me know when you can
come by and help out!
