AO51 with ssb uplink

Worked control operator KE4AZN and Joe, N3PKC on AO51 with the uplink set for ssb on the 0104z pass 10-30-06. The higher power setting on the downlink helped me get my input aligned better. I noticed that my signal was clearer when I set my transmitted signal from upper to lower sideband. Dave W8IJ

NOVA: Magnetic Storm

There is a really fantastic NOVA on the magnetic fields of Earth and Mars. It is entitled "Magnetic Storm". A regular AMSAT technical contributor and famous magentic field specialist, Mario Acuna, LU9HBG plays a prominent role in the NOVA episode. I really enjoyed this one. Hi! XF4DL showed up on another AO-51 pass last night, around 0455 UTC, but there were only 2 other stations on that pass besides me that made QSOs with them. Tiny-2

Hi to the list, I have a problem with my Tiny-2 Tnc. When I switch it on I can see the Tnc initialize with All the details the I get the prompt command but Whatever I type or even I give just a carriage return, The cmd: disappear and do not get any reply from the Tnc. Anybody can tell me how to get the prompt command again? It comes out again only if I switch it off and then on again But when I do how explained above I get again the problem. SSETI Symposium presentation

At the 2006 Symposium there was a presentation on Cubesats late in the day on Saturday that had to be cut short. I forget who was speaking (sorry!), but the analysis of what happened on the SSETI launch was going to be covered on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I could only attend the one day, and missed the answer to the clif hanger. What was the answer? SAT PROGRAMS AND TIME CHANGE

Hi all, This may be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway. While going through the house changing all the clocks for Standard time this morning, I started to think about how most satellite tracking programs automatically change from standard to daylight savings time. With us changing next year to March and November, won't there have to be some sort of change in the software? I'm using Instant Track and have no experience with other programs. So I'm not sure if there is a method to change with them. 73 de Doug........KA8QCU
