THIS IS A REVISION TO OUR LAST FLORIDA AMSAT NET BULLETIN FOR TONIGHT'S NET. DUE TO A GAP IN COVERAGE, CHECK-INS IN THE ORLANDO AREA CAN ALSO JOIN THE NET ON 444.125 MHz +5 MHz USING TONE OF 103.5 Hz. DAVE, AA4KN

And turn off the P.L. It makes it sound awful on CW. I started out on Mode A with a Regency HR-2B with one crystal, keying the thing on CW and it worked great. 15 watts did the trick. Made hundreds of QSO's until I got a better rig. What got me started (this was in about 1974) was the local folks talking about OSCAR on the 2 meter repeater all the time. SO one day I tried just keying the mike and seeing if I could actually hear my own signal.. Lo and behold... it was there! The rest is history... I did the same with Oscar 10, using my old Heathkit HW-24, with only 10 watts and a 7 element beam I could actually hear myself coming back on the downlink! The CW signal was awful but I managed to work about 10 stations. Hello I never hear anyone talking about vo52. I was there aos to los cqing myself. The sat reminds me of the old rs 10 days. A good sized bandwidth and enough time for a couple short enjoyable qso's. See you there. 73 Bob W7LRD Seattle

Hi to the list, I own a PacComm tnc to use at 9600 baud. I notice a problem always I switch it on. When I switch it on the leds called: PWR STA CON Are permanently on and no communication comes out on the terminal program. Any help please?

If your HT does odd splits and has wide coverage, you might be able to reduce or eliminate this. Generally, the VFO has to switch from receive to transmit by the amount of the IF. That's probably where the chirp comes from. I have not done this experiment with a service monitor to see exactly what happens, but you might try an odd split such that the RX frequency has been shifted by the IF frequency (you might have to try both +/- to see which works for your rig). Then when you key the rig, the VFO doesn't have shift very far (if at all) and that might make the chirp go away. dual L/S helix feed

Hello All I have completed though not tested as yet my dual band feed. If anyone would like to try the same or check out my efforts, I will foward a couple of pictures upon request off list.
