Sooo, does this mean my FT-817ND @ 5w, mobile, will work Australia on 20m or it's better suited as a paperweight 'till it's over? I had a blast this summer working Germany and Romania while QRP mobile! Not exactly a satellite question but it _sounds_ like it won't be a good time for working the birds. 73, Joe WB3CFN, FM19

Hi John, I know of at least one Dutch radio amateur, Jan Ottens PA0SSB who used his EME dish (one of the first in PA land to do EME back in those days) to receive the ALSEP packages. He still keeps audio tapes of these which I listened to a while ago... quite a thrill. He also used the dish to listen to the command module S-band transmissions, but he could only hear the subcarrier which they used, not enough gain / low NF to demodulate, but from the modulation you could clearly tell that an astronaut was talking. And, you could clearly distinguish the Doppler shift and hear the carrier drop out suddenly when it would go on the "flipside" of the moon. L/U Mode USB

BB This mode is a challange. During overhead pass up the east coast this evening I could barely hear I believe call sign ending in NPC calling on the 70cm D/L. I replied but don't know if anyone could hear me. Any other reports from the BB on this mode. 73 Bruce KG4YEV

Thanks to every one who sent me information on where to download a Tech.Manual for my 736-R I now have several places to download from. I started one and ran out of Ink,File was saved,so tomorrow will get new cartridge.Again,many thanks for the help. George,W3VVP
