I am very encouraged by the efforts of these volunteers! Being the first attempt by both stations, there were lessons learned. I think they are going to try again tonight... But we do want to welcome backups to join the team. Especially those that have done a remote-logon to a KPC-3+ TNC before. The web page tells all about how to do it. But we must coordinate so that only the best available station makes the attempt each pass. Ill try to keep the web page up to date in real time. Bob, WB4APR

Thanks for Dayton Demos

All, I want to thank everyone who participated in the recent Satellite Demonstrations at the Dayton Hamvention. We did successful demos on AO-51, AO-07, and VO-52. Friday was a slow day, but Saturday and Sunday made up for it. The demos were well attended at Dayton and we received many kind "thank yous." 73 - Keith, W5IU

Microwave Bands Need a quick tutorial

When I refer to 1296 or 1268.. I think 1.2gig, not a Letter like S, X, K, what have you. I need a little help or a link to a list that breaks down what band is L/S/U/K/V/ ect. I looked on the amsat page.. but could not find anything. In time ill memorize it.. but when trying to think of future plans for my station and doing my research.. the use of both is so common.. its confusing trying to figure out my needs. Does anyone know of a grammar filter? It may be a good top level filter to get rid of the tripe, and that way I won't have to keep setting up message rules and filters when an email address changes... N1AJV

On the contrary, I find that the Board of Directors has regularly been most truthful and forthcoming with information, especially when asked about it in a tactful and polite manner. 3. No one ever said this was a democratic organization. On the contrary, this is a corporation. It is governed by a board of directors who are elected to guide the group to the betterment of the satellite community. Under the by-laws, the Directors are under no obligation to listen to any one individual, or even a particular group, other than the regular elections. I have found that the Directors have generally been most responsive to questions and suggestions when they are asked in an intelligent and polite manner. 4. "Have any suggestions i am now freely open...as AMSAT-NA IS ATTACKING MY RIGHTS." You have no rights on this reflector. It is governed, supported, and operated by AMSAT. You HAD been granted the PRIVILEGE of posting here, until your abusive actions and postings generated such an outcry among the great majority of the group that your PRIVILEGE was revoked. Ultimately, like most public forums today, I think this list will eventually have to change to being whitelist-based.
