I have about 150 ft.of CATV cable..(for home cable TV). think it is 1/4 inch. Does anyone know what loss figures at 430 MZ are for this cable...? Mike Miller KA5SMA

Sun or not

Hi All, Ok, so moving on from other questions, how can you predict when the satellite will or won’t be in eclipse? I have seen reports saying that UO-11 will be out of sun light for this amount of time, how does one create these charts? Sorry for all the questions.. Satellite Tracking for Mac OS 9?

1.2ghz antenna location

Hello I will be mounting my 22 el 1.2Ghz yagi "inside" my HF 20,15, &10 meter quad. Has anyone tried something like this or even similar? If I mount it up near the top of the mast is might be faily close to my 10M driven loop. I also am considering mounting it 90 degrees to the quad boom and just figure that in whe aiming the short yagi. So what would be the closest I want the yagi to be to any of the HF wires? Part of the space inside the quad is taken up by a 3 foot primestar dish for 2.4 Ghz. So the antenna placement "up there " is getting a bit crowded. I want to try not to degrade 1.2 or my HF suff. APRS and Tracking Software for Linux?

Hopefully someone can help me here. I am experimenting with Ubuntu Linux 6.06 LTS here...and I'm so far impressed with the speed and ease of use. It's certainly no Windows XP, but it's not bad. So...what are other Linux users using for APRS duty? Soundcard packet/APRS? Tracking? No hurry...since I'm not swtiching my 333 MHz Celeron. I'm just in the "learning curve". Kenwood TH78a

I was wondering if anyone is using TH78a handheld to work AO-5, AO-27, and SO-51? If so wonder what downlink and upload frequencies you got programmed in? I got mine so it will take 436.800 but can't get 436.805 programmed. When I had a Icom IC-32 the downlink frequencies I had were as follows. 436.805 436.800 436.795 436.790 436.785 435.310 435.305 435.300 435.295 435.290 Just can't get it to take anything ending in 5. Simple Newbie Q? SGATE?

Good Day All: I am a newcomer to Sat Comm and began with APRS activity through ISS. I was successful with my mediocre set-up of J-pole old rg58 TM-241 and UISS w/soundcard and Orbitron. I pretty much understand the digi and gate topology and use of the new paradigm WIDEn-N but have a question. It is very confusing on proper paths and other issues because al ot of information is still online that is quite old and has no date attached. On the APRS through ARISS site it is suggested that success into the database will be improved by using a path of "via ARISS,SGATE,WIDE" I have found other info that says: NEVER NEVER NEVER use GATE in aVHF path--- If GATE is used to gate across from VHF to HF then what exactly is SGATE? I cannot seem to find a description of WHAT it means. I see that ISS uses SGATE on its own announcement messages but I see very few uplink messages using it. Also, if I am only wanting to utilize messages into my current sat footprint, is RFONLY a good path statement? Is there a current listing of all these somewhere? I was successful on several occasions now using via RS0ISS-4,SGATE,WIDE so it works but I don't want to be hogging up resources. Thanks for your patience, KU8L EN82hi

WGS72 & WGS66 Gravity Model Coefficients

Back in 1998 in response to a request posted to this BB, someone sent me two files containing the WGS72 and WGS66 Gravity Model coefficients.
