Happy New Year
I think I coppied UA1OEJ on AO-7 cw signal was a few db above mental telepathy. Anyone know if this fellow is active on AO-7. It would be really stretching the AO-7 footpring from CN87.
Happy New Year to all

According to Google and Bing, there are lots of free and commercial virtual
serial port emulators, with a range of features including automatic error
injection for testing. However, all of them emulate null modem cables so
far as I can find. This is a problem in some applications, such as the use
of serial ports for control functions where a straight through cable is
expected. Has anyone encountered a virtual port driver which can be
configured for other than a null modem cable?

I just completed my first QSOs through AO-51 at 12:25 UTC on my new
DJ-G7 handheld and the Arrow antenna while standing on the back porch in
a snow storm in the dark and cold. Thank you KJ4MCZ in FN42 and N5AFV
in EL29 for being the first. I am now smittin.

Hi Henk. Nice video. VA3FM had my callsign incorrect, it is WB3CSY. He was asking me to repeat my grid. That was my first contact via HO68 (thanks Steven) using 5 watts with my Yaesu FT-60R and an Arrow antenna. It is very difficult to make a contact via HO68 with that equipment versus the other FM birds.

A bit of a correction/addition to my earlier email. Don Stoner, W6TNS (sk) described
the antenna of OSCAR I in a Feb 1962 article in CQ:
"The cover of the package contained a fixture for the 1/4 wave monopole which
used the case as a counterpoise. The antenna was secured to the cover until after the
transmitter separated from the parent vehicle."
