Aloha
Does anybody know of any problems with
APRSWEST.net? For several days when
trying to logon via UIVIEW I have timed
out repeatedly. Oddly, even clicking on their
website (on another computer), the connection
does not occur? I have checked some
other servers in UIVIEW with no results.
For the moment anyway, my Satgate is
non-functional and there are no other Satgates
currently operating in Hawaii that I am aware of.
Typically, my problems are self induced hihi,
but I thought I would just check around.
I have made no configuration changes that I
am aware of.
Comments welcome. Mahalo.

Today in the Mail, I received two QSL cards from November of 2001. One was
from Belgium and the other from Japan both contacts I made via AO-40. Boy do
I miss that Bird! Satellite DX is now limited to Canada and Mexico for my
location.
I guess I do not totally understand why it took 8+ years to receive cards
from "The Bureau", but it was a welcome surprise!
Happy New Year

This morning I switched the satellite back to "normal" mode for a bit
with the 145.92/435.3 repeater on, set power levels on both 435.3 and
435.15 transmitters to 450mw and 500mw, and reenabled the SSB/FM
repeater. I believe the higher power on the SSB/FM repeater running
alone was causing some of the interference issues and odd behavior we
have been hearing and getting reports about. I did also briefly listen
to the 145.88 uplink in FM and there was non-amateur QRM there.
Let me know if this sounds more like the way this mode sounded last time
we ran it.
Twitter and the AMSAT AO-51 schedule page also updated.

I heard you loud and clear, Tim! Sadly, it didn't come up very often, and when it did, it didn't stay on very long. Thanks for giving it a shot ;)
Maybe I can give it another try in the next few days...if I do, I'll post to the AMSAT-BB again.
73 and Happy New Year to you!

Hello All,
Quick note--I'll be turning AO-16 ON in voice mode during the 2020utc 30 Dec pass. It probably won't stay up very long, but if anybody is around and would like a QSO or two, give it a shot! I'll probably not be on voice, but rather standing by in digital mode in order to start it up when it goes down...
Mode FM Voice Repeater (Downlink is DSB)
Uplink: 145.9200 MHz FM
Downlink 437.0260 MHz SSB (pick one! USB or LSB will both work...)
It will be OFF at the end of this pass, most assuredly...
Happy New Year!

Which one should I get or should I order both and put a T connector between them ?

I have both the RHCP and LHCP receiver versions, but with a house move, I
have not had the opportunity to test them.
