I am preparing an presentation for school contact EU#280, which will take place in November at a school in Basel, Switzerland. A few years ago, I saw a movie, which shows the development of the ISS since the first days. It consists of drawings only - not pictures - and shows the progress of the space station in several steps - it is very informative and would make a good topic in my presentation. Can somebody understand my description and point me to the source ? Thanks ! Werner, HB9BNK

Kauai BL02 Contacts

Greetings from the North Shore of Kauai, Today I was able to test that all my sat gear made the trip from California in working order. Contacts were made via FO-29 & AO-27 as far away as Montana & Colorado using a dual FT-817 setup with an Arrow antenna and ARR 440 preamp. I am fortunate to be here until Friday 9/14 and will try for more sat contacts. My wife is busy setting up plans for us and her parents, to celebrate her parents 60th wedding anniversary. So, my sat operating time is very limited, at least this week. Here are passes I'll try to operate thru Friday 9/7. Satellite demonstration from Aguada town

Hello all! On Saturday September 1st, The Aguada de Pasajeros `s Radio Club will give an Amateur Radio presentation from the Central Park of the town. The Radio Club will be operating on the HF bands and 2m local repeaters. I will be there on behalf of the Satellite Cuban group for a Sat demonstration, I hope to operate on the SO-50 and AO-27 passes from 12:00z to 20:00z and I will try to encourage some Hams to the Microphone. Aguada town is in EL92 around 40 miles from Cienfuegos city. Please, give us a call! 73! Ft-847, SO-50

I found on my FT-847 that the strength of the sub audibles got weak as frequency decreased. I normally work all linear sats, but I had a request to work another ham through SO-50. I could not bring SO-50 up with my FT-847. I listened to the 847's output with a handy talkie and sure enough when I got down to 67 Hz, the tone was not there. The high frequencies worked OK but started loosing strength as I programmed the 847 downward. I used the handy talkie to make the QSO.

camera tracking device

okay, not satellite related but... why couldn't a satellite or balloon have this gizmo on it and then the tracking device in the tripod automatically looks for that device and tracks it. keps would not be needed because the satellite is telling you where it is. thought it was an interesting idea. the company's web site is www.soloshot.com for the story at the houston chronicle we site..... Satellite demonstration from Aguada town

Hello all!! The trip to Aguada de Pasajeros town was uneventful. The location chosen for the demonstrations was the town `s central park. 21 stations were worked on three satellite passes and a lot of contacts were done on the HF bands and 2m local repeaters. A lot of people came to the presentation and some asked about how begin in the amateur radio world. The most exciting part for the audience was when we heard the contact between NA1SS form the ISS and K3CUJ from the National Electronics Museum, Linthicum, MD. It was a great experience to everyone!!! Equipments used for this satellite operation is what I use usually when I am portable. A mobile 2m FM radio with a homebrew 70cm/2m down converter inside, with a strap around my neck. The 2m Kenwood TK-270 HT for Tx, a 12V 7AH battery into a backpack, a digital MP3 recorder, The HT in one hand and the homebrew Arrow Antenna with a homebrew preamplifier in the other hand. Thanks to everyone who worked me and said hello to the group. Right now, I have answered a lot of question about satellite and AMSAT on our 2m local repeater. I am sure that we won some satellite enthusiasts more. 73!
