I need an Orbit Guru for our next APRS satellite.
We need someone to be able to generate a ground track (LAT/LONG) table for
a mildly elliptical LEO orbit that starts at 5 South,0 E, with integer
values (rounded) every minute for 95 minutes.
This gets loaded on the satellite so that it can automatically send out its
APRS POSITION as it flies. Thus, ground users will actually see the
distance and direction to the satellite live in their mobiles or portables
and on their maps.
Yes, we did it manually from Instantrack (took HOURS) but we will need to
do it quickly at the last possible pre-launch opportunity, so we need
someone that can generate the table quickly and in our final format.
W1AW/9 - Illinois - Satellite Operations
W1AW/9 - IL operations will begin at 0000 UTC on December 3, 2014. I will
be activating the satellite operations for W1AW/9 - IL and will attempt to
be available for contacts during as many passes as possible. Contacts will
be available through AO-7, FO-29, SO-50, AO-73, and through the ISS packet
repeater. Only 'live' 2 way contacts through ISS will qualify as 2 way
QSO's. QSL is via ARRL. Logbook of the World QSL should be available a
couple weeks after the operation closes on December 9.
Remember that W1AW/9 - IL will count as a new call sign for the AO-73 award.
If you hear me on, please give me a call!

Seriously, people, watch what you "quote below", please.
404 was a small-time offender digest. But, one with an alter-message for
those with tech-savvy/
Seriously, cut off the 'quotation' stuff and make it easy for us all.
Just a little report that satellite DX is alive and kicking. Today I worked
EA5TT in IM99 on AO-7 Mode B SSB on our second attempt, a distance of
7437km. We were both at about 2 degrees elevation for the QSO. Thank you
Soon after, I was on FO-29 and worked EA1JM, G3VKV, and F6CTW on a 3 or 4
degree max pass. At the beginning of the pass I did hear a FM5 cq'ing, but
didn't get an answer and he disappeared after my first call. I assume this
was FM5EP that Clayton on a subsequent pass.
I'm open for any schedules with stations that need Florida or EL88, or who
are in a grid that I need, and there are several in Europe and South America
still! My QRZ entry has a map of confirmed grids, but there is a higher
resolution one in my Dropbox, visible at
