Upcoming ARISS Contact Schedule as of 2016-09-17 21:00 UTC Quick list of scheduled contacts and events: **************************************************************************** ** Call for Proposals Proposal Window September 1 – November 1, 2016 The Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) Program is seeking formal and informal education institutions and organizations, individually or working together, to host an Amateur Radio contact with a crew member on board the ISS. ARISS anticipates that the contact would be held between July 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Crew scheduling and ISS orbits will determine the exact contact dates. To maximize these radio contact opportunities, ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed education plan. The deadline to submit a proposal is November 1, 2016. Setting memory frequencies for FM satellite operation

Is there a computer program that will compute a table of time, azimuth, elevation for a given satellite and station location for a set of Doppler corrected frequencies (both uplink and downlink) in user-specified frequency intervals. For example, SO-50 TIME AZ EL UP DOWN 0959:00 10 34 145982.17 435165.53 1000:00 44 46 145980.66 435170.05 but where the frequencies are in user-defined increments of 2.5 or 5.0 kHz. This would simplify choosing frequency memories for handhelds and when to switch memories when operating FM satellites. Ron W5RKN

Earlier this evening, K6R communicated a status update audio report which I have recorded and happy to make available to the community. FN05/06/07 on Sunday Sept 18th

Hi All, As I Tweeted earlier, I am moving my departure day up to this Sunday so that I can spend a little more time in FN-05/06/07. I'm also hoping that this will allow me to spend more time in EO80 and EO90, hopefully 2 days in each grid. I have to leave on Sunday morning so as to be in Barrie, ON at 9:00 for the opening of a store where I plan to buy an inverter so I can re-charge the various batteries without having to run back into town all the time. I will stop in FN05/06/07 as I am passing through and operate from whatever is available at the time. Unfortunately, that means only two passes in the case of FN05 and one pass in the case of FN06. FN07 is another matter as you will see. FN08 might happen on Monday morning. PLEASE NOTE: All times shown are in EASTERN TIME. Add or subtract as necessary for the zone you are in. I'm conversant in UTC, but this is just easier for me. ALSO NOTE: I'm still very much a rookie on the linear satellites, having made only one QSO so far. However, I've received a lot of coaching an encouragement from all of you and I think things will be OK after the first few attempts. Bear with me. Hi Folks, Just to say that the mode has been switch just now to full time transponder mode. Please note that we normally try and switch back to education mode on Sunday evening, but this might not happen due to non availability of command station operators.
