Fwd: [BRMS] Large, Heavy, Weatherproof Outdoor Cabinets

I have a few weatherproof outdoor enclosures available. These were used in the electric utility industry to enclose controls for switchgear. All connections go through the bottom panel. Minimum internal dimensions are approximately 17" x 15" x 9", weight is ~50lbs. The cabinets are made of steel with a neoprene gasket & drip lip around the front door; the gasket might need some attention as these cabinets are ~40 years old. The cabinets have a mounting bracket along the rear that extends above and below the back panel. The front door can be pad locked. There is an internal panel that swings out and it can be removed if desired. There is a 120 VAC duplex outlet & a screw terminal strip inside on the raised, drilled and tapped back panel. All the internals are still in the cabinet, new owner can strip out what isn't needed...it'll take an hour or less. These cabinets are great for remotely located antenna connections, antenna match units, switches, power amps, etc. $60 each, 2 available. I have several of these weatherproof enclosures available from the electric utility industry. Minimum internal dimensions are approximately 13" x 7-1/2" x 6", weight is ~10lbs. The enclosure is made of a very durable white plastic. The front of the enclosure opens 180+° on the long edge & has an aluminum panel inside which has a variety of threaded holes for attaching comms equipment. The door incorporates a continuous rubber O-ring seal, and a stainless steel spring loaded latch which will accommodate a pad lock. The back of the enclousre has an array of bosses with integrated stainless steel threaded inserts for (6-32 or 8-32, I don't recall) machine screws (included). All I/O connections are through the bottom of the back which include a PolyPhaser surge arrestor (N female each side), vent, grounding lug, sheet aluminum grounding plate, and a 7 pin male Canon connector. There is an integraged aluminum U bracket which extends above and below the top and bottom edges of the enclouse for mounting to a utility pole. Four 1/4"-20 stainless steel bolts with O-ring seals attach the plastic housing to the aluminum U bracket. It's been years since we had an ISS member running a station for Field Day, but it occurs to me that Sunni Williams is a Ham, and with the lengthened mission she might have some otherwise uncommitted time on her hands... What do you think? Greg KO6TH

First off the crew is very busy on the ISS and they simply may not have the time to just pick up the microphone and talk. Also, one needs to be aware of their normal daily schedule. I have listed below the constraints that we at ARISS have to follow in order to schedule the school contacts. Hopefully this will help you better schedule your opportunities. Typical daily schedule Wakeup to Workday start= 1.5 hours Workday start to Workday end=12 hours Workday end to Sleep= 2 hours Sleep to wakeup= 8.5 hours The crew's usual waking period is 07:30 – 19:30 UTC. The most common times to find a crew member making casual periods are about one hour after waking up and about an hour before sleeping, when they have personal time. They're usually free most of the weekend, as well. SSTV events are not that often. So please check out https://www.ariss.org/ for the latest information or watch for the ARISS announcements. And don’t forget that the packet system is sometimes active. Check the status at https://www.ariss.org/ or http://www.issfanclub.eu to see if the packet system is active or not.
