ARISS anticipates that the contact would be held between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022. Crew scheduling and ISS orbits will determine the exact contact dates. To maximize these radio contact opportunities, ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed education plan. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 31st, 2021. Proposal information and more details such as expectations, proposal guidelines and the proposal form can be found at www.ariss.org. An ARISS Introductory Webinar session will be held on February 25th, 2021 at 8 PM ET. The Eventbrite link to sign up is: https://ariss-proposal-webinar-spring-2021.eventbrite.com The Opportunity Crew members aboard the International Space Station will participate in scheduled Amateur Radio contacts. These radio contacts are approximately 10 minutes in length and allow students to interact with the astronauts through a question-and-answer session. An ARISS contact is a voice-only communication opportunity via Amateur Radio between astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the space station and classrooms and communities. ARISS contacts afford education audiences the opportunity to learn firsthand from astronauts what it is like to live and work in space and to learn about space research conducted on the ISS. Students also will have an opportunity to learn about satellite communication, wireless technology, and radio science. Because of the nature of human spaceflight and the complexity of scheduling activities aboard the ISS, organizations must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate changes in dates and times of the radio contact. Amateur Radio organizations around the world with the support of NASA and space agencies in Russia, Canada, Japan and Europe present educational organizations with this opportunity. Just listened to an East Coast USA pass on 437.325. Strong signal but no decode using standard AFSK AX25 1200 Bd via SoundModem. It did not sound like normal 1200 Baud APRS. SatNOGS has multiple transmitters,speeds and modulation types listed for this frequency so not sure what mode is being used. Anyone have info ? Thanks Frank - WA2NDV

Hello AMSAT-ers The CAPE Team has not heard it sat of 145.825 yet we are talking it on 437.325 MHz The CAPE III sat beacons out ~ 90 sec on 1200 FSK the 20 sec later on 1200 bps AFSK and then 9k6 bps fsk We think we have a bad connector on the VHF side if you think you have heard CAPE III please email an call me 337 258 2527. The tlt are listed below and probably a few min behind RasFX2 Tnx nick k5qxj CAPE 3 1 47309U 21002A 21028.58087949 .00001877 00000-0 97672-4 0 9999 2 47309 60.6851 94.6672 0017495 296.6373 63.2922 15.20284710 1619 RadFxSat-2 (AO-109) does not have a 2 meter transmitter. That was likely CAPE-3, which was on the same launch, which does have a 2 meter transmitter on the space APRS frequency of 145.825 MHz. I thought I saw a report a couple of weeks that they were having trouble with the 2 meter transmitter, which may explain the weak and brief signal. AO-109's beacon downlink is at 435.750 MHz and the transponder downlink is 435.760 MHz - 435.790 MHz. At this time, we have heard no verified reports of the beacon being active. The transponder does pass signals, but the downlink is weak. Our Engineering team has asked that it not be used while testing and evaluation is underway. 73, Paul, N8HM

ARISS anticipates that the contact would be held between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022. Crew scheduling and ISS orbits will determine the exact contact dates. To maximize these radio contact opportunities, ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed education plan. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 31st, 2021. Proposal information and more details such as expectations, proposal guidelines and the proposal form can be found at www.ariss.org. An ARISS Introductory Webinar session will be held on February 25th, 2021 at 8 PM ET. The Eventbrite link to sign up is: https://ariss-proposal-webinar-spring-2021.eventbrite.com The Opportunity Crew members aboard the International Space Station will participate in scheduled Amateur Radio contacts. These radio contacts are approximately 10 minutes in length and allow students to interact with the astronauts through a question-and-answer session. An ARISS contact is a voice-only communication opportunity via Amateur Radio between astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the space station and classrooms and communities. ARISS contacts afford education audiences the opportunity to learn firsthand from astronauts what it is like to live and work in space and to learn about space research conducted on the ISS. Students also will have an opportunity to learn about satellite communication, wireless technology, and radio science. Because of the nature of human spaceflight and the complexity of scheduling activities aboard the ISS, organizations must demonstrate flexibility to accommodate changes in dates and times of the radio contact. Amateur Radio organizations around the world with the support of NASA and space agencies in Russia, Canada, Japan and Europe present educational organizations with this opportunity. The ham radio organizations’ volunteer efforts provide the equipment and operational support to enable communication between crew on the ISS and students around the world using Amateur Radio.
