If any crewmember is so inclined, all they have to do is pick up the microphone, raise the volume up, and talk on the crossband repeater. So give a listen, you just never know. ####################################################################################################################################### Comments on making general contacts I have been seeing a lot of traffic on Facebook and I suspect on other social media sites with people asking why they are not hearing the crew make general contacts. First off the crew is very busy on the ISS and they simply may not have the time to just pick up the microphone and talk. Also, one needs to be aware of their normal daily schedule. I have listed below the constraints that we at ARISS have to follow in order to schedule the school contacts. Hopefully this will help you better schedule your opportunities. Typical daily schedule Wakeup to Workday start= 1.5 hours Workday start to Workday end=12 hours Workday end to Sleep= 2 hours Sleep to wakeup= 8.5 hours The crew's usual waking period is 0730 - 1930 UTC. The most common times to find a crew member making casual periods are about one hour after waking and before sleeping, when they have personal time. They're usually free most of the weekend, as well. SSTV events are not that often. So please check out https://www.ariss.org/ for the latest information or watch for the ARISS announcements. And don’t forget that the packet system is active. As always, if there is an EVA, a docking, or an undocking; the ARISS radios are turned off as part of the safety protocol. Mark, I tried with MIR-SAT 1 (MO-112) but was off in spite of expert advices by over 24 hrs, guess it is a lottery, point of re-entry not accurate as spanned over 4 hours. I therefore suggest that we all keep an watch +/- one day of expected re-entry and it would be nice to capture its last signals and determinate its re-entry approximate location. To motivate all to try to capture the last telemetry of F3, in my capacity of MARS President I wish to inform all that MARS will issue a special Award for last formal telemetry received from F3 and you will also receive a MO-112 national first day cover (our first 3B8 HAM bird being honored with a 3B8 national postal stamp, for your collection). Mark, we will liaise on the side to validate the winner data. I take this opportunity to thank Mark for is great work maintaining F3 for the benefit of the HAM community worldwide for many years, personally I enjoyed working F3 many times, I believe that there are many others who will join me to give a great applause to Mark for his great contribution. Hi Vince. I've only been a member for less than a year but this QUIET email reflector seems to be the norm. When I questioned that myself, I was told by others that Satellite ops "all" communicate via Twitter. I have checked that out and see there IS a lot of satellite-related traffic there. But I simply can't get used to the mechanics of Twitter so I rarely look at it. Hey Tim, sounds to me that you need to populate your SubTone.sqf file. Here is what I have in mine. some of these entries are no longer needed. I just collected them over the years. SatPC32 enabling tone on IC-910H

Hello, This is my first post here and of course it is a question. I am just getting into satellites and have a lot to learn. I downloaded satpc32 and have it running in demo mode and it seems to be working fine when connected to my IC-910H. One issue I have is I can't enable the tone. I have cycled from T0, T1, and T2 and the rig never turns on the PL tone. I read a past message about this where it mentioned needing to install the "American" version in order for the tone function to work correctly. I only seem to find the one version to download. Is there another one or has the software been updated to take care of both radio versions? I did look at the subtone.SQF file and I see the code that I think should make it work.
