Help Setting up SatPC32 with HDSDR and SDR Play

I added an IF tap to my FT-847 with the idea of using an SDR Play RSP1. The idea was to get SatPC32 to talk to HDSDR and track the tuning of the 847. For the life of me I can't seem to get this all to work. I know it does but it apparently is beyond this musician's brain to sort out! 73 Rick, W2JAZ

ND9M/mm Wet Grids - 4/30-5/1

I had AO-91 all to myself at midday from BK68. We were still in that grid for CAS-4A/B around 30/0130Z, so I was able to put that one into a few logs. Then we crossed into BK58, and I was on from there on CAS-4A/B and a pair of RS-44/CW passes. Tomorrow I'll give AO-91 another go at 30/2211Z, this time from BK38, but again the pass will hit only KH6 and a lot of water. CAS-4A/B around 01/0300Z, AO-7/CW at 01/0340Z (favoring JA), RS-44/CW at 01/0401Z (looking at XE and the US/VE Left Coast a few minutes later), CAS-4A/B about 01/0430Z, and another RS-44/CW pass at 01/0553Z are on sked. After nearly two weeks off line, we've finally gotten back our internet access and have started receiving e-mail again, so I'll resume posting to Twitter. We've got another time change tonight; this will be #6 of 10 on our voyage. We'll be at GMT-10 for a couple days. Time changes are unavoidable on trips like these, but they sure get in the way of making pass skeds! 73/Jim, ND9M

Thanks Bob, Was able to get through but unable to reply to the other station I heard. I think my reply was formatted incorrectly using the "B" special QSL reply format or my timing was off. I heard KE4AZZ make QSO #16 and saw the APRS confirmation. My reply according to this page http://aprs.org/QIKcom/Q2-DTMF-messages.txt should be: C40166327802277# Message number (40= 40 Q S L, your number _, my number is %.) then modifier (qso #16) and then my callsign and key code, this is using the radiogram format. Either way, on my Icom 9700 I have to edit the DTMF memory before sending the reply, so the B or the C message format doesnt matter much differently for me. I tried doing the Direct Input of B16 then switching quickly to a DTMF memory to send 406327802277# but couldn't get a reply out of the satellite. Only an 8 degree pass here in the NJ wet rained on trees. I recorded a video and uploaded it to Youtube for this last pass. https://youtu.be/aVr3wN7WI0s Something fun and different! PSAT2 VHF Awakes

PSAT2 VHF awoke from an 8 Mo slumber on 26 Apr 2021. We have no idea why. Its telemetry looks fine. Volts between 6.2 and 7.0 volts (5 NiCds). Exterior temps between -18 and +22 C. See http://aprs.org/psat2.html PSAT2 will NOT be in APRS mode but a brand new experimental mode for DTMF uplink and VOICE downlink. So you preload your grid and callsign into a 16 digit DTMF memory in your radio and when the satellite hears this it will assign a QSO number and QSL the grid by voice and then also generate an APRS packet for collection by APRS operators. There is even a way to send back a DTMF QSL so you can make it a 2-way DTMF. contact. Successful DTMF grids and messages will appear on a special URL on the PSAT2 page (above). To QSL, you key in that stations 2 digit QSL number and then dump your pre-loaded QSL DTMF message.. Since this is the first time this transponder is on the air and because a DTMF uplink takes maybe 4 seconds, we dont want the uplink saturated by a bunch of newbeees initially until we see if it actually works. So read the docs and be sure you know what you are doing. Baofeng radios

Two grid squares - is it possible ?

I remember seeing a web site that calculated if two grid squares were in the same footprint of a satellite. I can not find it and would like to know if Hawaii is ever possible from FN30. I don't believe it is but hope springs eternal. It will also be useful for the EU passes on RS-44 from the East Coast USA. Anyone have a link for this calculation ? Thanks and 73 Frank WA2NDV FN30
